World’s Best Golf Resorts Readers’ Poll Results Revealed in September Issue and Online Now

New York, NY (August 27, 2007) – Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina wins title of Best U.S. Golf Resort, according to Travel + Leisure Golf’s 2007 World’s Best Golf Resorts readers’ survey, announced today. Last year’s top winner, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, SC, is ranked second best in the U.S., and Pebble Beach Resorts, CA, comes in third. New to the top ten U.S. list is Doral Golf Resort & Spa, FL and The Greenbrier, WV. In Europe, St. Andrews (Old) is named Best Course in Scotland. Complete results of the magazine’s fourth survey are featured in Travel + Leisure Golf’s September issue, on newsstands and online at www.tlgolf.com/worldsbest now.

John Atwood, editor-in-chief of Travel + Leisure Golf, says, “It is no surprise to me that Pinehurst has reclaimed the number one ranking it held in 2005. In addition to the outstanding golf and recent announcement that it will host the 2014 U.S. Open, the resort has expanded and enhanced its golf school, spa services and accommodations.”
