Avoid Disney in the Summer
Floridians seem to know what the rest of the world does not. AVOID Disney in the summer (if you can). Summer is probably the worst time to visit Florida especially the theme parks. It's waaay too hot and the crowds of people can make your theme park experience absolutely miserable.
If you go during the off season, (Thanksgiving, winter holiday, long weekends) you will have a totally different and pleasurable time. We took my mom there for mother's day one year and had the best time. The weather was beautiful (not too hot), the lines were short or nonexistent (we were able to ride the rides over and over without the lines) and we were able to stroll through the park without the crowds.
It was such a different experience from what I was used to during the summers. It made the trip totally worth the price of the costly ticket.
