Temple of Artemis
Just outside the lower entrance of Ephesus is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The temple was once a massive, colonnaded structure honoring the patron goddess of Ephesus. Today, the area is a marsh, and only one lonely column remains standing, but the enormous footprint gives a sense of just how awesome this building once was.
