With an aquamarine color scheme mirroring the surf just outside the windows, this must-go Mediterranean eatery overlooks Australia’s most famous beach. Outside, gulls swoop and waves roll; in the sleek, airy modern dining room, good-looking, sun-bleached staffers flirt and serve up seriously delicious food. The seafood-based choices are standouts here: after a first course of Spanish mackerel tartare with sweet Tuscan dwarf peaches, do yourself a favor and order the day’s catch—either filleted or whole fish, prepared with almond aioli or crusted with herbs and sea salt. Meat-eaters will be happy here, too: the char-grilled rib-eyes hold their own against any in the city.

Tip: Do not—repeat, do not—skip pre- or post-dinner drinks at the bar, where the people-watching and the Campari-infused cocktails are both knockouts.
